I am slowly regaining consciousness… I find myself opening the eyes and recognize my bedroom… I shake my head but… What's this? There is a scarf tied over my mouth! And my hands are tied to my ankles with handcuffs!

I try to scream, but there is a piece of tissue inside my mouth that keeps any sound from coming out of my throat. It feels like a knee-high nylon sock rolled into a gag ball… I am helpless. I am scared…
It happened real fast. I remember now that I was coming back from the office, where I work as a legal secretary. I drove back home as usual, but because it gets dark earlier in November, I couldn't see what that shadow was, behind the bush… I remember opening the front door, putting my handbag down on the chair in the entrance hall while I was certain I had closed the door behind me. I walked towards the phone, to take my messages on the answering machine. It is right there and then that he caught me from behind…

Forceful and muscular arms wrapped over my shoulders and a small towel impregnated with a nauseous smelling liquid was pushed against my nose and mouth… I tried to scream, but I couldn't… Then I lost it completely. It got real dark all around me and I felt myself go…

Now sitting in my bed, I try to understand better what is happening to me. Gosh I am so scared…! The man who tied me up like this is probably still inside my house… I stay motionless and listen… but all seems very quiet. I look up towards the door of my bedroom but I don't see any shadows or different intensity in the light of the hallway either.

I try to pull at the metal handcuffs, but the small chains are much too solid to break.
